Pascal Patton

My Great Great Grandfather Pascal Patton was a Corporal in the Confederate Army of the 15th (Josey's) Arkansas Infantry Regiment, Company E.  He died on April 3, 1862 apparently from measles.    Pascal was found on the battlefield of Pea Ridge wounded and ill with measles.  He was found by his son James Northan Patton and carried home where he died a few days later.  Their home was close to the Pea Ridge Battlefield.   He is buried in the old section of Friendship Cemetery, Springdale, Washington County, Arkansas next to his brother Isaac C. Patton.    The 1860 census shows that Pascal and his family lived in Washington County, Clear Creek Township, Arkansas.

Pascal Patton married Lucretia Sarah Jones about 1843 in Washington County, Arkansas. Their daughter Sarah Jane Patton married my Great Grandfather Thomas Morgan Flaherty on February 21, 1869 in Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas.  Sarah was previously married to George Washington Cloer on July 12, 1863 in Carroll County, Missouri.  Sarah and Thomas' marriage record states her name as Sarah J. CLOER.  This has caused some confusion for Cloer researchers.  Sarah and Thomas both died in 1920 in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma.  I am actively researching to find their final resting place and I suspect that they are buried in Frisco Cemetery, Stonewall, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma.  Sarah's brother James Northan Patton and his second wife Martha Ann (Burns) Patton are both buried in Frisco Cemetery, as well as James first wife Eliza Jane "Betty" (Ingram) Patton .  There are several Patton relatives buried in Pontotoc County and Pittsburg County, Oklahoma.

Pascal's brother Isaac C. Patton was a Private in the Confederate Army with the 15th (Josey's) Arkansas Infantry Regiment, Company C. during the Civil War.   He died on April 18, 1862 we believe from wounds received during battle.  Isaac C. Patton married Elizabeth R. Jones about 1839 in Washington County, Arkansas.  Elizabeth was the sister of my Great Great Grandmother Lucretia Sarah (Jones) Patton.
